CNAME records are records used to associate a new record (eg. mail.example.org) with an existing record (eg. ghs.google.com) this makes it so you anytime ghs.google.com changes its records, you do not have to change your records too. (c) securesignup.net.

For instance, from the above example, the new record (eg. mail.example.org) is used as an alias for (eg. ghs.google.com).

Another scenario is when you want to use a CDN to optimize your website. You will use an alias via CNAME to personalize your existing CDN Record from your CDN Company.

Here at Kind TechGroup, we use 5CentsCDN because they offer great features that we need to optimize the performance of our site and so as our services.
